REPORT FOR DECEMBER

The committee session started with the roll call. A handout for the details of the resolution were given to the delegates. The committee then proceeded with Tharun Pranav and Atul, explaining what a resolution is, why a resolution is prepared and how to prepare it. The various parts of the resolution were also discussed and explained. The session ended with a question and answer slot where all the junior delegates clarified their questions.

REPORT FOR NOVEMBER

The committee session started with an introduction to impromptu speech. The delegates were introduced to the topics of the session (i.e.) How to use media wisely? How to prepare the youth population to become better citizens? and Which country should host FIFA the next time? The delegates were given twenty minutes to prepare after which they had to speak for 2-3 minutes. The session went well as the delegates had an experience of public speaking and they came out with valid points.

REPORT FOR AUGUST

The committee started with a discussion on how to make the world a better place. The problems faced by the world and the solutions found so far were discussed. TED talks on how to make the world a better place by 2030 was shown. The sustainability goals to be achieved were discussed. Videos on carbon emissions were shown and discussed. They were also introduced to the concepts of GSL/SL, Working Paper and Resolutions.

REPORT FOR JULY

The committee started at 1:30 pm on 21 st July 2018. The delegates were given 10 minutes to make notes of all the points they wanted to speak on the topic ‘CSK or Cauvery Issue’. After 10 minutes they were asked to speak out their points. The delegates were asked to make notes of what the other delegates were speaking. Once we completed with the above activity a debate with the above activity a debate was conducted on the topic is ‘Is Censorship required or not’. Most of the delegates felt the censorship should not be in place as it hides the truth from the public. Whereas some delegates felt that censorship is required to prevent public uproars.

REPORT FOR JUNE

The committee started at 9:30 am. The rules of procedures in UNA-USA format was discussed. The delegates were given a handout, each of the ROP. The ROP was explained by the faculty adviser. The questions the junior delegates had was clarified by the senior delegates. After the discussion of the ROP, a quiz regarding the same was conducted. The answers were also discussed. Overall, the committee session went on smoothly without any glitches.
What is a MUN ? Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extra-curricular activity in which students typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. This activity takes place at MUN conferences, which is usually organized by a high school or college MUN club. At the end of most conferences, outstanding delegates in each committee are recognized and given an award certificate; the Best Delegate in each committee, however, receives a gavel.
